The new range of discounted variable mortgages, available to new and existing mortgage customers at both banks, offers an interest rate of 2.99% when customers provide a 40% deposit; 3.49% with a 25% deposit; and 4.49% with a 20% deposit.
Commenting, Steve Reid, retail director for Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks, said: "Across the market standard variable rates are at an all time low and as a result we have introduced a range of discounted variable rates as low as 2.99% to appeal to homeowners looking to move home, re-mortgage or release equity in their current property."
