I have also found it useful to speak to respective companies that are offering leads and ascertain if they can deliver what I want – such as percentage of remortgages, specific LTV, etc.
Obviously there are certain companies that can’t, but many of the telephone qualified lead providers can provide this facility.
We can also hope that increased competition will lead to better quality leads as more players enter the market. Or else the proposed regulation of them by the Financial Services Authority (FSA) will improve it.
For instance, as Nigel mentions, is it treating a customer fairly to encourage them to enter their details for a product/loan they cannot assess, such as the 110 per cent commercial deal mentioned?
