Prior to establishing The Consulting Consortium in 2000 Ms Smith has worked for a number of leading financial institutions including the Financial Services Authority (FSA) and a ‘Big 4’ consulting company. The awarding of the Fellowship will take place at The Compliance Institute’s Spring conference in London on 29 April.
The Compliance Institute is the leading body in the UK for regulatory professionals, representing and promoting their interests and development. The Institute’s mission is to advance the standards of competence amongst Compliance staff, offering them the benefits of professional status and opportunities for professional development.
Joanne Smith, Managing Director at The Consulting Consortium, said: “I’m very pleased to accept this honour. John Bourbon, Chairman of the Compliance Institute, added: “To fully quantify the significance of this award it is appropriate to point out that there are only 66 Fellows of the Institute worldwide. This is mainly due to the entry bar being set, quite appropriately, very high and we are delighted to welcome Joanne as our newest Fellow."
