Industry figures in attendance include property ombudsman Chris Hamer, the Law Society’s Michael Garson and the Moving Association’s Jane Finch.
Eddie Goldsmith, chairman of the Conveyancing Association, said: “At the CA, improving customer services in the property industry is one of our main goals and, in fact, one of the main reasons we exist.
“We can see from the results of the surveys that there are some major road blocks in the process. We now need to work together to develop positive solutions to remove them.
“What’s clear is that the problems are too big for one organisation to solve on their own and it will need the whole industry to come together to make this possible.”
The Conveyancing Association launched its best practice guide in December to help conveyancers and estate agents communicate.
Goldsmith added: “Ultimately we hope that this campaign will inspire others to challenge the status quo – which in the property industry can often be quite outdated – and strive to make the home moving experience better for all those involved.”
