The prestigious Top 100 list, compiled by the National Apprenticeship Service in partnership with City & Guilds, recognises excellence in businesses that employ apprentices.
After a rigorous selection process the most outstanding Apprenticeship employers from all four National Apprenticeship Awards employer categories (ranging from small to macro sized business) went forward to feature in the list, which showcases the breadth of employers who now offer Apprenticeships.
Coreco began the journey with two apprentices in August 2011, the first of whom is now a fully qualified Mortgage Adviser.
Since then Coreco have another four apprentices spanning sales, administration and marketing functions, each of whom are adding their own unique personalities to the Coreco mix.
Roy Hardy, operations director of Coreco, said: “This is a major achievement for us and we could not be more proud, especially after our Highly Commended Award at the London regional final of the prestigious National Apprenticeship Awards and National Training Awards 2012.
“To be named in the top 100 companies in the whole of the UK alongside such household names as Rolls Royce, BT and IBM is fantastic and goes to show that Coreco is not only committed to being an industry leader but also dedicated to the community and helping people achieve their goals.
“Our apprentices have already added so much to the Coreco team, offering a different point of view and confirming that Coreco is a superb place to work.
“We need more financial services companies, whatever size, to follow suit and ensure that the brightest young talent does not get overlooked and are given every chance of becoming the leaders of the future.”
David Way, chief executive of the National Apprenticeship Service, added: “The breadth and depth of employers on our Top 100 list just goes to show the huge impact apprenticeships have on companies of all sizes and the UK economy.
“Apprenticeships are the country’s gold standard for vocational training. As part of the new era for apprenticeships we are introducing measures to ensure there has never been a better time for employers to hire apprentices.
“With more higher, degree level, apprenticeships, rigorous new standards for all apprenticeships and new financial incentives for small firms who hire their first apprentices, employers can be confident that apprenticeships will deliver for them.”
