Every year the best the mortgage market has to offer takes part in a football tournament with all proceeds going to Shelter. Last year the event raised over £40,000 for Shelter.
Four teams are taking part in this year's event: BM Solutions, Mortgage Express, a Broker team and Shelter, playing at Crystal Palace Palace's ground, Selhurst Park, on 9th May 2005.
Commenting on this year's tournament, Michael Bolton, managing director, BM Solutions said "As current holders of the trophy we're not willing to give it up without a fight! The most well known faces from the mortgage market will be taking part and if it's half as good as last year then everyone will have a great day. Even more importantly we will be raising a lot of money for Shelter to enable it to continue its work with homeless and badly housed people throughout the UK."
Richard Skinner, Senior Business Development Fundraiser, Shelter said "The enthusiasm and support that the day generates is fantastic and the money that is raised really does, ultimately, makes a huge difference for some of the poorest people in society"
Leader of the broker team Mark Harris, Managing Director, Savills Private Finance said "BM have had it their own way for too long, we intend to win the trophy in style and have an array of the finest broker footballing talent ever assembled. Rumours of XXXL shorts being required for several team members are unfounded. We will be the finest team to grace Selhurst
