Brokers will be able to scan documents such as ID, proof of address and payslips using tablets and smartphones which can be accessed by providers in an online customer case folder.
Joe Pepper, managing director, EDM MSS, said: “Our new service removes any uncertainty around whether documents have been received by fax or by email and allows brokers and mortgage providers to easily view the documents in the online case file as and when they need to.
“Brokers are often out on the road and meeting customers in their homes, so we have updated our service to make it easier for them to conduct their business and for mortgage providers to progress mortgage applications more quickly and efficiently.
“Our aim is to continue to develop our systems and services for mortgage lenders and brokers to help them deliver the very best service to customers.”
EDM has also changed the form completed by brokers to certify that they have seen original documents.
Intermediaries will now use a tick box system designed to speed up the process.
