The scheduling of the roadshows will ensure that brokers wanting more advice about becoming an appointed representative still have time to make an informed decision and complete the necessary application procedures before the 31st October FSA mortgage regulation deadline. Mortgage Intelligence will also be providing advice about how networks can provide compliance and other support services to directly authorised brokers.
Sally Laker, Managing Director, Mortgage Intelligence commented: “I anticipate that a significant number of brokers will leave their regulatory decision until the last minute despite the marketing efforts of the networks and calls to action from the FSA and media. We have deliberately planned our roadshows to provide an eleventh hour option for brokers wanting support from a network. We don’t want to see anyone left high and dry unable to trade come Mortgage Day.”
Mortgage Intelligence will stick to its unique recipe of mixing business with pleasure at its 2004 roadshows, offering brokers the opportunity to talk regulation and then try their hand at a range of activities from laser clay shooting with helicopters to off road driving.
Sally Laker continued, “Brokers tell us that they like to mix business with pleasure. Our activity day roadshows proved to be a winner last year so we are giving brokers more of the same.”
