Bridgewater's Forums were attended by a mixture of established equity release advisers, those who have just started to give advice and others looking to enter the market.
New advisers in particular have been keen for providers to deliver a set of tools including factfinds, research support and templates of documents such as suitability letters
Alison Beeston, compliance & communications manager at Bridgewater Equity Release, commented: “The Forums have been well attended and received by delegates and we have been delighted with the numbers of advisers either actively giving equity release advice or looking to enter the sector. It is clear that many advisers are seeking advice on the market itself, the different client attitudes and how equity release fits into the financial planning ‘jigsaw’.
“Advisers are often unaware of where they can access sales and advice tools and in particular are looking for help with factfinds and suitability letters to aid their involvement. As a result of this feedback, Bridgewater and the other ERMF sponsor providers will be looking at providing further help in these areas to advisers and we are hoping to gain additional input from delegates on areas where we can add value in the next four forums.”
