The seminar programme has been put together by the Association of Independent Financial Advisers (AIFA) and includes presentations by a number of members of AIFA’s Equity Release Advisory Panel.
The Equity Release Seminar Theatre will be situated in the Equity Release zone, sponsored by Key Retirement Solutions, and will be chaired by AIFA policy officer, Linda Chandler. The full programme, which runs for the full two days of Expo on the 14 -15 November at Earl’s Court 2, covers the following areas:
- ‘Entering the equity release market’ with presentations by Dean Mirfin, Business Development Director at Key Retirement Solutions and Stuart Wilson, Managing Director of Equity Release Advisory Service.
- ‘State benefits and equity release’ with presentations again by Dean Mirfin and Andrea Rozario partner at Rozario Harris & Co Ltd.
- ‘Training to give equity release advice’ with a presentation by Alison Beeston, Compliance and Communications Manager at Bridgewater Equity Release.
“The equity release sector continues to be a focus of interest for both mortgage intermediaries and financial advisers and within the Zone Expo delegates will be able to meet with and evaluate a large number of the UK’s equity release product providers.
“We are delighted to be working once again with AIFA in putting together a seminar programme which tackles the key issues in the sector. The seminar presentations, delivered by experts in the sector, will provide an insight into how to enter the sector, the vitally important issue of state benefits, and the training and qualifications needed to provide a first-class equity release advisory service.
“It is vitally important that mortgage brokers considering a move into equity release advice have the necessary information and expertise before doing so. The Equity Release Zone at Mortgage Business Expo will provide this and should be a must for any adviser considering their next move within this growing sector.”
Chris Cummings, director general of AIFA, added: “AIFA is delighted to be organising the seminar programme for the Equity Release Pavilion at Mortgage Business Expo London in November. The Equity Release Pavilion was introduced at Mortgage Business Expo Manchester and was particularly well received.
“We are therefore pleased to be organising the second seminar programme of its kind for 2007. We have an array of speakers joining us to give presentations on entering the equity release market, training and qualifications, and the state benefit issues that are so vitally important for advice in this area. We hope delegates will come along to learn the very latest information on this growing sector from our industry experts.”
Mortgage Business Expo London 2007 has been split into four zones this year: Residential Mortgages, Secured Lending, Commercial Property Finance and Equity Release. All zones will have dedicated seminar theatres organised by industry trade bodies and will also contain key industry exhibitors plus a range of seminars from industry experts delivering information and advice on how to enter these potentially lucrative markets.
