The October 2013 intake includes 100th student, 21 year old Sebastian Ridout, from Bournemouth, who decided on a career in the profession after hearing about the FAS through a family friend who was a financial adviser.
Prior to enrolling, Ridout was a budding professional footballer, winning a football scholarship at an American university, and taking his team to the national cup final before an ankle injury forced him to rethink his future.
Ridout said: “I am thrilled to be the 100th student at The Financial Adviser School and to be able to join in the celebrations.
“Since enrolling, the FAS team have been extremely approachable and helpful, and I am excited to be completing my studies in such a friendly and supportive environment.
“I am looking forward to beginning my career as a financial adviser, and FAS is the perfect springboard into the profession. I am confident that some of the qualities I had to demonstrate as a footballer, such as leadership, determination, and the ability to work with others towards an end result, will be very helpful in my new career.“
Lisa Winnard, director of The Financial Adviser School, added: “On behalf of FAS, I would like to congratulate Seb on becoming the 100th student to enrol.
“Seb’s story shows that The Financial Adviser School is a great platform for would-be financial advisers of all backgrounds to gain the skills and experience necessary for building a successful career in the industry.
“FAS has been a great success story and the fact that we have welcomed over 100 students in just over two years, sends out a clear message to anyone interested in becoming an adviser, irrespective of background or past work experience.”
