The Welsh First Minister, Rhodri Morgan, will give an address at the event that brings together professionals from a range of bodies including the National Assembly, local authorities, housing associations and policy groups and key players in the housing and lending fields.
Glyn Taylor, chairman of CML Cymru, said: “Financial services is one of the fastest growing sectors in the UK economy, but is under-represented in Wales. Housing contributes around 13.6 per cent of UK GDP and is an important driver for growth and regeneration.”
“We believe that both sectors will have to be given proper recognition in the National Economic Development Strategy, if Wales is to achieve the levels of growth that the strategy proposes. We should also not forget that the wide variations in house prices within Wales very much reflect the vicissitudes of economic fortune in particular areas.”
