Davidson scooped gold in the consumer mortgage journalist of the year category for her work in the Independent on Sunday, ahead of Lauren Thompson writing in The Sunday Times and joint bronze winners Tanya Powley of The Financial Times and Leah Milner of The Times.
The judges said Davidson’s work was “clearly structured in order to set out and explain each scenario, distilling complex issues into easy to understand language”.
Davidson said: “I’m thrilled to have won such a prestigious award and to have my efforts recognised.
“Many thanks to The Wriglesworth Consultancy who hosted last night’s do as well as to LSL for putting the whole show on the road. And of course to the mystery judges - and of course all at Mortgage Introducer.”
Davidson left Mortgage Introducer in November last year after two and a half years editing the publication and now edits sister publication personal finance website EveryInvestor.co.uk.
She continues to freelance for The Independent on Sunday.
Mortgage Introducer publishing editor Robyn Hall said: “This is a fantastic achievement for Sarah and one for which we are all very proud – well done from all at The Publishing Group.”
