Commercial First, which provides non-conforming and near prime commercial mortgages, has offered packaging facilities to all Freehold members.
Recently joined by JFS Nationwide Homeloans to bring the number of members to 19, Freehold works with a small number of lenders that share a common goal of quality business. Freehold aims to allow its members to compete on a level playing field with bigger packagers, in terms of marketing, products, and compliance by being part of a larger group.
Paul Brett, spokesman for Freehold, said: “Commercial First has been at the forefront of bringing commercial mortgages to a wider intermediary audience and have identified the packager market as an important conduit. At Freehold, we have the infrastructure and geographical spread to give Commercial First the coverage they are looking for.”
Stephen Johnson, sales and marketing director at Commercial First, added: “Freehold is an organisation whose core principle is the generation of quality packaged business, something which is very important to us and our intermediary partners. We are very excited to be working with Freehold and seeing the positive effect of this relationship.”
Anthony O’Callaghan, director at Just Mortgage Packaging, which recently joined Freehold, said: “The commercial market is one we haven’t been into before, so this allows our brokers to enter into an area they might not have considered before. It’s a good opportunity for them to earn more money. As we’re quite a small business, being part of Freehold allows us the same access to lenders that larger packagers get to acquire similar product exclusives and service enhancements.”
