Other award winners were Scottish Life as 'product provider of the year', while Invesco Perpetual won 'fund manager of the year'.
Martin Greenwood, Tenet chief executive, said: “These awards are based on the feedback from our annual provider survey and recognise those product providers and fund managers judged to have the best overall propositions by our advisers.
“The survey results also support providers to focus their business objectives in specific areas, which should help lead to improved customer outcomes.”
Friends Life’s accolade was awarded based on the strength of its proposition and brand, the quality of its service and its online capabilities.
Mark Anders, Friends Life director of sales, individual protection, added: “We are very pleased to have been recognised by the Tenet group members.
“The scoring against quality of proposition, service and online capabilities is totally aligned to our ethos of a premium protection proposition in Protect+, excellent service and supported by a comprehensive easy to navigate platform. Thank you again.”
