It has been updated to include key areas of interest to small firms and has taken on a more specific approach with information targeted directly at the different sectors within the financial industry.
The FSA has also claimed that due to improvements to the site it is now easier for small firms to do business with the regulatory body.
Sam Bennett, press officer at the FSA, said: “We conducted consultations with brokers in the Spring within our monthly regulatory round-up asking what firms would like to see added or changed to the website.
“Many commented on making the website easier to understand and following this we started to change the site to make it more open and simpler for small firms to do business with us. The major change is that it is now a lot more specific within each industry sector and is less complicated for firms to go through.”
Phil Perry, director of ARK Financial Planning Limited, welcomed the changes: “Anything that makes the FSA site simpler is a good idea. Having direct access to required information at the touch of a button rather than having to go through other channels is very beneficial.
:Within the financial industry there is far too much regulation and paperwork, and half our time is spent looking around for the information. Anything that cuts that down has got to be welcomed.”
“The extra targeting of the information to make it more specific has also made it a lot easier to navigate around,” he added.
