The Scottish property market faces a struggle if it is ever to get back to its pre-recession peak, a leading Scottish surveyor has warned.
Shepherd Chartered Surveyors managing partner Ian Fergusson claimed "slow growth" was hampering the market North of the border.
Speaking at the Financial Services Expo in Glasgow he said: "As a nation Scotland has seen slow growth and it will be a struggle if it is going to get back to where it once was.
"Since the crash we have seen some hotspots but the market remains hard. For instance Aberdeen has been hit by the drop in oil prices."
But he said there was some positives in the market despite the difficulties.
"The decline in Aberdeen has seen some other areas improve. Glasgow and Inverness are both helping drive the Scottish property market forward," he said.
"Unfortunately the market is hard and most property owners won't have seen any appreciation. For now weare all treading in the same treacle."
FSE Glasgow is taking place at the Hilton, William Street Glasgow until 5pm.
