Speaking at Speaking at the Financial Services Expo in Manchester Sinclair, who is chairing the events seminar program, highlighted the issues affecting the market.
He said: “At the bottom of the crisis we wished for a lot of things and the government has delivered with schemes such as Funding for Lending and Help to Buy.
“However these schemes have revealed chronic problems in the market – m0st notably the lack of supply.
“Not enough homes are being built and we don’t have a strategy in place to rectify the issue.”
And Sinclair warned that there is no quick fix for the market’s woes.
Sinclair said: “Builders will say that a ten year program is required to build the amount of houses that the UK needs.
“Whatever new government is formed following the election it will need a plan.”
