Building on their existing relationship, GE will provide specialised products and an onsite underwriter to work alongside AToM staff. This will help the processing and issuing of First National mortgage offers to be more efficient. GE said it wanted over 30 underwriters working onsite with intermediaries by the end of the year.
Gerry Bell, head of mortgage marketing for GE Money Home Lending, said: “This is another key partnership for us. We’ve worked with AToM before, but we wanted to move it to another level. As dedicated partners, we’re offering more than we would to a standard packager. With AToM, we had a meeting of minds and really felt we could get on board with it.
“This will generate business on the back of the products we design for AToM and an onsite underwriter will ease the approval of business. There will be the advantage of instant feedback, as opposed to going to a lender.”
Dale Jannels, sales and marketing director at AtoM, said: “We’re delighted to further extend our branded lending panel with the inclusion of First National. Branded lending is a key element of our distribution strategy and First National has some superb products to compliment this. We look forward to working closely with it moving forward.”
Paul Brett, director of Freehold, said: “The market felt First National lost its way somewhat after GE took it over. I’m pleased to see it is starting to re-establish itself after a period of restructuring. It’s a good move for First National to team up with an influential business like AToM and it seems like it’s back on track.”
