It’s true that brokers and intermediaries deal only with homeseekers that are at least thinking of buying a property, but many of those will be tentative – they’re looking for advice and information before they make a decision. If they don’t get to hear about affordable options such as New Build Homebuy then that decision may well be to continue renting, because they have simply confirmed their erroneous belief that the first rung on the property ladder is indeed too high.

Good mortgage intermediaries are to be applauded for their overall knowledge of the market in which they work. With the growing number of lenders willing to provide partial mortgages, and the increasingly desirable nature of many New Build Homebuy properties up and down the country, surely being able to offer such an option to people that might otherwise be lost to the mortgage industry entirely can only be a positive step?
