John Smith, sales and marketing director at GHL Group, said he was delighted to add such a strong brand name to its general insurance (GI) panel.
“We are delighted to be offering our members a quality insurance product with healthy commission terms from such a strong brand as Halifax. I have been impressed with the appetite that Halifax has shown this year to develop a strong partnership with us and am looking forward to developing new opportunities, which can only go to benefit our customers.”
Jon Craven, head of mortgage intermediaries at Halifax General Insurance, added: “The deal further strengthens Halifax’s relationship with GHL Group and increases our product offering to the appointed representatives within its network. Halifax already provides mortgages to the GHL network making us the only lender-linked provider of GI on its panel.”

Simon Chalk, mortgage planner at Mortgage Portfolio Services, commented: “I would never put forward a lender brand when it comes to GI. I would rather look towards a few specialist companies like Paymentshield or CETA and work with them closely, especially as GI is such a small part of my business.”
