Andy Milburn, head of marketing at Goldsmith Williams, said: “The problem with lender schemes is that brokers lose control of the sales process when cases are referred to conveyancers with whom they have no working relationship. What’s more, there is no opportunity for brokers to earn fees from conveyancing work.
“Our scheme has been designed to enable brokers to retain control, earn a fee and be able to recommend a conveyancer to their client with confidence that they will receive a high quality service. What’s more, clients will have the comfort of knowing that we have been appointed to look after their interests and not just those of the lender.”
Many lender schemes provide clients with the option to either use a free fee conveyancing service provided by them, or choose their own solicitor and take a cashback instead. Goldsmith Williams’ ‘Free Fee Plus’ option enables brokers to refer the conveyancing work to Goldsmith Williams with the cashback being used to pay the firm’s legal fees (subject to a minimum cashback of £200). If the cashback is for at least £250, the broker will receive a fee of £25, with their network, club or packager also receiving a fee of £25.
Brokers can instruct cases to Goldsmith Williams using its free online conveyancing system, GW Live, which also enables brokers to track the progress of cases and see case notes in real time.
