The system will allow intermediaries to see the same information as the solicitor, from case notes to items of correspondence relating to the case. Goldsmith Williams said this would help brokers actively control the case from referral to completion, as they could check each stage of the process and move it forward.
GWLive will calculate fees, give instant fixed quotes and e-mail confirmations on application. It can also deliver management reports to provide feedback on turnaround times and intermediaries’
sales processes.
Eddie Goldsmith, senior partner at Goldsmith Williams, said: “This system is the next step to instant econveyancing. It was developed with intermediary feedback and gives case progression, rather than case-tracking. Mortgage introducers want to feel part of the process and this allows that, as they can see what is outstanding and what they can do to speed things up. It also shows how they are doing in their own business and gives them access to helpful management information.
“GWLive brings the legal process, often perceived as the most time-consuming part of the mortgage process as a whole, into line with other technological advances in the industry. Over 40 per cent of our cases are now instructed online and it is rising every week. This is the software that mortgage intermediaries have been waiting for.”
Commenting on the service, Nick Baxter, managing director of mortgage club, Mortgage Promotions, said: “This is a very technologically driven solution to the referral system and is very impressive indeed. Referrals are historically slow to process and this particular evolution takes it into the next dimension. It makes it very easy to track individual cases and the system is very detailed. A remortgage case can go from offer to completion within 10 days, which is incredibly efficient. It really takes the time-consuming nature out
of referrals.”
