Chancellor Rishi Sunak (pictured) has revealed that the government is launching a £7.1bn Home Building Fund.
This is part of a £20bn overall government investment in long-term housing strategies.
To launch the Home Building Fund, Sunak will be establishing a UK infrastructure bank, headquartered in the North of England, which will work with the private sector to finance major projects.
Sunak also confirmed a £12bn investment for the Affordable Homes Programme.
