In the 27 months since the scheme was launched 990 deals were completed in Wiltshire, while other popular areas were Leeds (911), Central Bedfordshire (893), Peterborough (740), County Durham (726) and Milton Keynes (724).
The scheme has helped 56,402 buyers purchase property since its launch, with 82% being to first-time buyers with a typical purchase price of £216,030.
John Valentine, director at Wiltshire-based FX Mortgages, said: “Wiltshire has seen plenty of new build sites going up and the national and regional builders have been very active.
“There’s been a lot of development in Trowbridge and Melksham in particular.
“We’ve also seen mass migration from the expensive areas of Bristol.
“There’s been lots of sites developed here, lots of new homes built, and therefore lots of participation in Help to Buy.”
