The move, which will see Halifax-employed loss adjusters visiting the homes of claimants to talk through procedures face-to-face, will set new standards in customer service in what can often be a very traumatic process. HGI will initially pilot a scheme handling general peril insurance claims in the East Midlands region and subsidence claims nationwide.
The Halifax Claims At Home service will be based out of offices in Kegworth, creating approximately 60 new jobs locally and a further 100 jobs once the scheme is rolled out across the UK later this year.
According to Jim Pittman, head of Halifax Claims at Home, the division will provide an outstanding level of service for customers. He said: “This service will be of great benefit to our customers. Insurance claims sometimes can be, by their very nature, unpleasant experiences, so we are trying to make the process quicker, simpler, less traumatic and more sympathetic for our customers. When a Halifax General Insurance customer makes a claim, a Halifax loss adjuster will attend the claimants house – that immediately creates a sense of reassurance for our customers.”
