Chief executive Grenville Turner will lead the division. Nick Robinson, managing director of Intelligent Finance, will take responsibility for business-to-business strategy, working with Turner to identify new market opportunities and map the division’s direction. He will also join the retail management board.
Nigel Stockton will retain his responsibilities within Birmingham Midshires and become managing director of HBOS Intermediary Mortgages. He will be responsible for co-ordinating activity across HBOS’s mortgage intermediary brands.
Tim Hague will become director of BM Solutions while Alan Cleary will be appointed director of Halifax Intermediaries. Michael Bolton, currently managing director of BM Solutions, will become head of HBOS Specialist Lending, responsible for developing specialist lending propositions and ensuring HBOS maintains its position.
Stockton said: “It’s wonderful to reward Alan following his excellent job as head of sales for BM Solutions. I’ve no doubt he will lead Halifax well. Tim also has a wealth of experience and will drive BM Solutions to the next phase.”
Of Bolton’s appointment, Turner said: “Michael has done a fantastic job at BM and with his market knowledge I cannot think of a better individual to now lead our product development work internally.”
Managing director of Clerical Medical Financial Services, John Hiew, will retain responsibility for its intermediary distribution, working closely with intermediary brands to build on the firm’s introducer proposition.
Hiew will also assume responsibility for HBOS’s employee share service business. Finally, Peter Thompson will become managing director of partnerships, general insurance and retail.
Turner added: “These key appointments reflect the importance of the intermediary market and our commitment to continually improve our proposition. Through these dedicated roles we can continue to improve our service and strengthen relationships with our intermediaries.”
