Jackson worked for RBS in south Manchester from 2000 to 2003 before moving to Bournemouth where she worked as a packaging manager for Future Mortgages until 2006.
From there it was as national account manager for Rooftop Mortgages before losing her job due to the recession whilst on maternity leave.
Tragically, Jackson’s daughter Charlotte was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia in May 2011.
She said: “I had to give up work and have been supported by a number of charities in different ways.
“In the last few months we have built up a large following on Twitter and Facebook and I would really like to give a little something back to the charities that have made a difference to us.”
So far Jackson has had an amazing response from her local community and further afield from people on Facebook that she doesn't even know.
She added: “Next month 15 people known as 'Team Charlotte' are doing a Skydive and six are climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in February. Our local press have now got onto the story and are fully supporting our fundraising efforts, which are at the moment mainly for CLIC Sargent the children's cancer charity although I hope longer term to register as a childrens cancer charity.
“It would be great if I could perhaps raise some support from the industry which I used to love working in.”
Alison Beech, business development director at Spicerhaart and a former colleague of Jackson’s at Rooftop, said: “Sarah was one of my account team at Rooftop Mortgages and was widely respected and liked by both the accounts she managed and her colleagues.
“It was devastating to hear the news that her much loved little girl, Charlotte, had been diagnosed with leukaemia.
“The Rooftop team was a very close knit one, and many of us are still in touch. In fact, there is a reunion coming up in August!
“I’m sure I speak for all of us when I say that Sarah and Charlotte are in our thoughts and prayers and it would be fantastic for the mortgage industry, of which Sarah was a valued member, could help in whatever way they can.
“It speaks volumes about Sarah’s approach to life that she is doing so much to help the charities that have helped her and Charlotte so that others can benefit.”
