The contract, which was awarded following a competitive bid process, takes effect on 11 January 2004.
Speaking about the announcement, Duncan Crocker, Managing Director Retail Distribution at Legal & General said, "We are very pleased to have not only resecured our contract with the Hinckley and Rugby Building Society for life and investment business, but to be able to extend this to include household and accident, sickness and unemployment business. During the tender process, we were able to demonstrate an integrated approach to the sale of mortgage-related products which we believe will enable the Hinckley and Rugby Building Society to reduce administrative time and ensure that customer needs are efficiently identified and met."
