Hinckley & Rugby Building Society has partnered with mental health charity Leicestershire Action for Mental Health Project (Lamp) to sponsor Mental Health Awareness Week on local radio station Fosse 107.
The event runs from 10 to 16 May and has been launched by the station in an attempt to encourage people to talk more openly about mental health.
It will be airing tips and advice to listeners all week during segments entitled Mental Health Minutes, which will focus on a different area of mental health and the services provided by Lamp, taking place each day.
As part of Mental Health Awareness Week, the lender is also sponsoring Lamp’s Around The World 5K challenge.
Almost 50 members of society staff are taking part.
Mark Foster, managing director of Fosse 107, said: “Lockdowns, financial difficulties and not being able to see our loved ones has had an impact on our mental health.
“We’re so pleased to be able to team up with Hinckley & Rugby Building Society and Lamp to encourage anyone who’s struggling to talk to someone.
“We hope that by taking a few minutes out of our normal schedule this week we can do our bit to get people talking.”
