Following governmental plans to abolish 'First Day Marketing' from 31 May this year, Trevor Kent has circulated a letter to homeowners asking them to stand up against this "infringement of liberty."
Currently, First Day Marketing allows sellers to begin marketing their home as soon as the HIP has been ordered. Under the new law sellers would have to wait until the HIP was in hand or risk a £200-a-day fine.
Firmly stating his anti-HIP position, Kent said that the 15-day lag time between putting a property on the market and being able to show prospective buyers round was unacceptable.
Kent is urging those who feel strongly about the removal of First Day Marketing to sign an approved petition currently live on the No 10 Downing Street website.
