As part of its special servicing HML will provide a full panel management service to those clients that require it, and over the past few months a rigorous procurement process has been undertaken to appoint service providers for field counselling, litigation and asset management.
HML has chosen to appoint Eversheds LLP to the initial panel as the preferred supplier for its clients’ litigation solicitor requirements, to professionally handle arrears cases where litigation is the appropriate course of action.
Graham Richardson, partner and practice group head at Eversheds added: “Mortgage lenders and servicers are increasingly facing cases where repossession is the best outcome for both borrower and lender, but coming under fire for it. We look forward to working with HML to ensure that their clients and their clients’ customers are treated fairly and with professionalism, during what is a difficult process.”
HML’s special servicing proposition was launched in December 2008. In recent months the company has undergone a rebranding, acquired Baseline Capital Limited and has announced the integration of Scarborough based Specialist Mortgage Services (SMS), giving HML a fifth UK site to sit alongside Skipton, Padiham, Glasgow and Londonderry.
