The trophy was presented at a Gala dinner held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Park Lane and hosted by TV personality Paul Ross. The awards recognise ‘the best IT practices in the financial services space – a sector that accounts for a fifth of the UK economy.’
Following the company’s 2004 success in winning the most effective business continuity plan of the year, HML held off strong competition from other short-listed finalists Citigroup, InvestCorp, Aspen Insurance UK Ltd and Market Harborough Building Society to take this year’s award. Nominations were evaluated, judged and selected by a set of leading industry experts.
HML won the award ‘for the efficient business continuity sites it provides across four locations in the UK and for its response to a crisis in the summer of 2005.’
Steve Haggerty, managing director of HML, said: “The award is yet another testimony to the efforts put in by the whole of HML in the implementation of one of the best-developed business continuity plans in the industry. Our use of four independent business sites gives HML great strength in terms of business continuity planning.”
Steve Haggerty concluded: “We’re delighted to receive this award, which demonstrates our commitment to providing a first class, robust business continuity plan to our clients, business partners and staff. Business continuity planning has always been, and will remain, a key focus of the company and its board of directors.”
