Stick another regulator on the barbie
It was mixmaster DJ Jazzy Jeff and his erstwhile MC The Fresh Prince who, on looking back at Summer’s past, wondered “how the smell from a grill could spark up nostalgia”. Indeed. Who knows the why’s or wherefore’s, but it does. So, in this brand spanking new regulatory era, what better way to be reminded of the years gone by without regulation than with a traditional grill-out.
It seems that the organisers of this year’s Mortgage Business Expo show in London are not expecting to find intermediaries in a forgiving mood three weeks into regulation. In its latest press release Clarion Events are offering all visitors the chance to “grill senior figures from the FSA and Financial Ombudsman Service just weeks after the onset of regulation”. Is there a shortage of sausages and burgers down Earls Court way?
A quick scan down the speakers at this year’s event reveals that Niall Jeewoonarain and Peter Cook from the FOS and Nick Jones of the FSA are the ones who should be donning flame-proof pants for their visit to Expo. MI – News advises all visitors to bring their own buns – you won’t see any on the stands this year.
Clarion could not confirm that MCCB chief executive Luke March would be putting on his apron to take charge of the grilling.
