Richard Coulson, managing director of Home Of Choice said:
“We wanted to strengthen our general insurance (GI) proposition and add more choice to our range of GI providers on our panel. Our brokers pointed out that they needed more bespoke GI products.
“We now offer a more sophisticated tool-kit for brokers and it gives them better penetration into the GI market. Home of Choice’s long-term strategy is to offer the best possible choice in all product areas so our brokers are fully equipped to advise the whole spectrum of clients.”
Protection of Choice is our Mortgage Payment Protection Policy.
The product is designed to protect home owners and cover monthly Mortgage payments in the event of Accident, Sickness or Unemployment. The maximum benefit under the policy is for £2,000 per month with a maximum claims period of 12 or 24 months. In addition, the monthly benefit can be increased by 50% to cover associated expenses. This policy is insured by Norwich Union and we believe should be a major consideration for anyone taking on a new mortgage or even re-mortgaging their existing property.
Household of Choice is the bedrooms rated buildings and contents policy.
The policy provides contents cover up to £50,000 with Buildings cover up to £400,000 rebuild cost. This policy will meet the needs of the majority of the UK's owner-occupiers and is underwritten by Royal and Sun Alliance.
Household of Choice Extra is Hoe of Choice's buildings and contents policy.
It has been specifically designed to cater for more unusual properties and occupations. The policy covers both listed properties and those of unusual construction including thatched roofs. The policy will also cover occupations that traditionally have not been favoured by more general policies including antique dealers, bookmakers and entertainers.
Holiday Homes of Choice is the holiday home policy.
With more and more UK residents buying holiday homes both in the United Kingdom and overseas we believed that it was essential for us to provide a policy that would cater for most of the holiday homes owned by UK residents. This policy is designed to cover all countries within the European Economic Area (EEA) including Belgium, Channel Islands, Cyprus, Eire, France, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Italy, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal and Spain
Buy to Let of Choice is for let property policy.
This policy is specifically for let residential properties. These can include Professional, Student, Asylum Seekers, DSS and DSS referrals and has been designed to meet the cover requirements of anyone buying and renting residential property. The policy can also cover unoccupied premises.
Richard Coulson continued: “In addition, we have also designed a referral process within the system to enable cases that do not fit the underwriting criteria to be submitted to Underwriters to enhance the service that we can offer our members and their clients.”
