However over the last three months the average value has fallen by £609.
The data, which comes from property website Zoopla.co.uk, showed an increase in property values over the past year in all but three regions of Britain.
The three regions to see an annual decline were Wales down 1.4%, the North West down 2.5% and Yorkshire and The Humber down 0.55% bringing the average house price in this region to £143,363 – the lowest in the country.
In contrast London property values rose by £30,259 -7.3% on average over the past 12 months.
Lawrence Hall, of Zoopla.co.uk, said: “It’s been a relatively flat but stable year for house prices with most parts of the country seeing modest growth. London, however, continues to pull away from the rest of the market and has experienced strong growth again over the past year.”
