Hometrack adds to team

As a non-executive director, Raynsford has been appointed to bring an objective and independent view to the Hometrack Board's discussions and to help provide the Board with leadership in relation to the company's strategy, performance and risk management, as well as ensuring high standards of corporate governance.

Raynsford has held a number of posts in government and joins Hometrack with extensive experience in the fields of housing, planning and construction. Raynsford has been the Member of Parliament for Greenwich and Woolwich since 1997, joining the government in that year. He held the position of Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State with responsibility for London and Construction and then Minister of State for housing and planning at the DETR. Between June 2001 and May 2005, Raynesford served as Minister of State for Local and Regional Government at the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister.

Raynsford was also director of Shelter Housing Aid Centre from 1976 to 1986, and director of Raynsford and Morris, Housing Consultants, from 1987 to 1992. Raynsford is currently a vice president of the Town and Country Planning Association and an honorary fellow of the Royal Town Planning Institute.
