It achieves a 40% increase in staff in just a year
Specialist short-term lender Hope Capital has announced a 40% increase in staff within a year, following a series of new hires and promotions.
The lender recently reported that the first half of 2023 was its most successful period to date and has now boosted its team to keep up with the increased volume levels.
“Hope Capital boasts one of the most talented and dedicated teams in the bridging finance sector,” Jonathan Sealey (pictured), chief executive at Hope Capital, stated in an article detailing the teams’ expansion. “Every single one of these promotions is hugely deserved and reflects the dedication and skills each person has. I’m really proud of them all, and I’m looking forward to seeing them flourish even more in the future.
“There’s a lot of movement at Hope Capital at the moment, which is really exciting. It’s great there are lots of developments across the board, and we’re extremely lucky to have such a rich pool of talent within the business.”
Kim Parker, who was previously a business development executive (BDE) at Hope Capital, has now been appointed as sales team manager, where she will lead the sales department to ensure the lender is meeting the diverse needs of brokers and their clients. She will also implement new strategies to ensure Hope Capital continues to be competitive in the specialist short-term market.
David Weir has also been promoted to a business development manager (BDM) role and will now oversee all bridging finance cases in the North and Scotland.
Navigating through choppy waters this year, Hope Capital has also boosted its internal sales team with the appointment of Jack Gardner as senior BDE, and Callum Goulden and Michael Trafford as BDEs.
In the lender’s underwriting department, Jon Reed has been promoted to senior credit manager to manage the credit functions within the business and ensure all loans are correctly structured pre-completion and all risks are mitigated.
Cheryl Smyth has also joined the underwriting team, where she brings over 15 years of experience in the finance industry and will be using her knowledge and skillset to manage bridging loan applications.
Also, Hope Capital’s portfolio management team has been strengthened with two new additions to help manage the ever-growing loan book: Mayo-Yemi Onafowokan and Sarah Matthews. Both new recruits join the team with a significant amount of experience in financial services and will be tasked with ensuring borrower’s loans redeem on time, while also providing support if clients run into any unforeseen circumstances.
Alongside changes to the sales, underwriting, and portfolio management departments, Emily Crowe has also been promoted to senior marketing and PR Executive. She will continue to manage all press relations and communications to stakeholders within the industry, while also supporting the strategic growth of the business.
