The number of exhibitors in the show was the highest ever, with over 200 different companies on show and 80 speakers leading seminars on a range of subjects from auctioneering to buying overseas.
Popularity boosted by market strength
The Homebuyer Show’s own survey of attendees revealed an overwhelming confidence in the future health of the UK market, with 95% predicting house price rises of between 5-10% this year. Only 2% of those surveyed predicted a housing market crash in the next two years.
All this is good news for potential property investors, many of who attended the Show to get advice, ideas and information from a wealth of industry experts, exhibitors and seminar speakers.
Property Investor Show North
Both visitors and exhibitors at the show are already looking forward to the next key event in the property show calendar, when the first ever Property Investor Show North will be held at Manchester’s G-Mex Centre from 18 to 20 June 2004, followed by a return to London’s ExCel Centre for the Property Investor Show in September.
Nick Clark, Managing Director of Homebuyer Events who organise the show commented: “This year’s show was a phenomenal success. Many exhibitors have already booked for next year’s event, due to the fantastic response.
“I’m delighted with the reaction to this year’s show, especially since it’s the first year we have charged the public entrance fees. Exhibitors have welcomed this as the visitors have all been genuinely interested in the homebuying process.”
David Waddington, Marketing Director of Crosby Homes commented: “During the show we took reservations for £7 million of apartments at various schemes in the Leeds area. This is a fantastic instant result from our first show with the medium and long term benefits still to come. In three days we have achieved sales of the number which normally take us at least a month.”
Andy Collett, Director of South African specialists Pam Golding International, said: “We take part in a lot of shows and this is without any shadow of doubt the premier property marketing event in the UK. The interest in South Africa was phenomenal and the show has been a spectacular success. The level of interest was fantastic and we were blown away by the quality of the visitors who were all committed and focussed. Of course we will be back!”
Chris Martin, Director of London Link Estate Agents added: “We have had over 350 quality enquiries which is fantastic. We normally only get about 20 a week so the show has been a great investment once again.”
