It will take place on 18 April 2007 at Chelsea FC’s Stamford Bridge ground.
In addition to plenary sessions on transferable skills, the Skills Exchange day will consist of five workshops, each lasting 45 minutes. Workshop leaders will take learners through the key skills required to perform their roles.
Attendees will learn how these transferable lessons can be taken back to the financial services workplace.
Karen Warden, head of executive and professional education at the ifs School of Finance, said: “This Skills Exchange programme will look at ways of improving performance by exposing participants to skill sets from a range of individuals outside the financial services sector who are at the top of their respective professions.
"Those in financial services should ask themselves what they or their team can learn about working with, influencing or managing people from experts like soldiers, classical musicians and a British Lions Coach. By attending the Skills Exchange Day they will be able to find out.”
The experts and their subjects are as follows:
- Influencing Others: Former British Lions coach Ian McGeechan
- Critical Communication Skills: “Maelasta” Musical Duet
- Building our self-confidence: Primary School (Barnardo’s) Teacher
- Dealing with Difficult People: British Airways Cabin Crew Trainers
- Coping with Crisis: Ex-Para Captain Jon Ingledew
