The Rt Hon Gordon Brown MP, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and The Rt Hon Jack Straw MP, Leader of the House of Commons, will be keynote speakers at the event in London on 13-14 June.
The conference will open the doors to greater investment from Muslim countries into the UK, and it will set the scene for Government policy changes which will enable more Islamic financial products and services to be offered in the UK market.
Delegates to IFTC06 will participate in the drawing up of a policy paper for the Government, and there will be practical workshop sessions in:
- Developing Islamic finance, commerce and trade ventures in the UK
- Setting up, financing and floating Islamic businesses in the UK
- Creating and selling Islamic financial products in the UK
- Developing the ability of Islamic compliant financial products to compete on an even playing field and meet regulatory requirements in the UK.
IFTC06 is being organised by the Muslim Council of Britain in association with the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) which represents Muslim countries around the world.
