The IMBM’s next Home Inspector programme will be held in Burton upon Trent, commencing on 21 May 2005.
The xit2 technology being used has been developed in partnership with the IMBM and provides trainee home inspectors the opportunity to gain practice and accreditation using an ‘as-live’ Home Condition Report.
The IMBM programme is designed as a ‘one-stop-shop’ for the Home Inspector qualification and will include training and guidance, assessment planning, home condition report preparation and external examination.
“There can be no doubt that the introduction of the Home Information Pack will revolutionise home buying and selling”, says Simon Sinclair, Chief Executive IMBM. “Implementation in 2007 will create a strong demand for Home Inspectors and to prepare for this, the IMBM has developed an intensive training and assessment process. The programme has been designed for experienced practitioners, providing training on the new requirements and guidance in developing assessment evidence leading to the ABBE Diploma in Home Inspection.”
“The HI qualification requires candidates to provide ten residential property surveys and three of these must be in the new Home Condition (HCR) format. xit2 have actually delivered a full HCR including energy rating questions and intelligent formatting, which will form an integral part of the training program. Other firms are working on this technology but xit2 has already tested and delivered a working solution which provides ourselves and our candidates with a huge level of confidence,” continued Sinclair.
Paul Duckworth, chief executive, xit2 Group - commented: “Following Labour’s re-election, it’s full steam ahead for HIPs and increased pressure on getting home inspectors trained and ready to go. We are delighted to support the IMBM who, as one of only four accredited assessment centres, have a huge responsibility in mitigating the significant requirement for Home Inspectors."
