Optoma Broker Solutions has opened new offices and a call centre in Lincoln.

The packager said the new base will help it cater better for its Northern-based brokers and will also deal with its direct-to-consumer operation.

Andrew Seymour, chairman of Optoma, said: “We want to get away from the rest of the packager market and we’ve been working hard to make sure everything is right when it comes to service and growing the business.”

House price rise blamed on property shortage

Linden Homes has blamed the severe shortage of detached family houses for the increased price rises in the sector.

While apartment prices have risen by just 2 per cent over the last 12 months, the average price of a detached home has increased by 6 per cent.

Linden has also revealed the construction of apartments has also overtaken detached houses across the country. More than 40 per cent of all private new housing registrations are now apartments, with detached houses making up only a quarter, according to the Home Builders Federation.
