Results of the January examination session were issued to candidates this week and reveal that 446 completed the requirement to be awarded the Certificate.
A core level qualification in the general insurance framework, the Certificate is designed to provide essential basic knowledge of the market, key disciplines and products. Those completing the Certificate and who become CII members can apply to use the designatory letters Cert CII.
CII qualifications and compliance manager Paul Turner says, "Qualifications are no longer the preserve of just the top professionals. There is no doubt that the FSA regulation of general insurance business has encouraged practitioners at all levels to gain an appropriate qualification.
"This Certificate is ideal for those just entering the industry, for some it will be a stepping stone to more demanding technical qualifications while for others it may be all they need. I expect the numbers completing it to continue to grow during the year."
A total of 2492 Certificate exam papers across six subjects were sat at the January exam session, of which 2063 achieved a pass.
