These appointments bring the total number of InterBay staff up to 77.
The business development team now stands at a total of 11 business development managers (BDMs) following the appointment of Nick Lewis-Perrins. Nick is responsible for the South West region, helping intermediaries to build their commercial business by working with them to identify commercial mortgage opportunities.
Mark Wilkins, director of sales at InterBay Commercial, commented: “Nick has been in banking and financial services for 14 years and spent the last four working as a commercial mortgage broker. This extensive sector experience made him a top candidate for the BDM role and we are delighted to welcome him to the team.”
Nick previously worked at Christie Finance, mainly dealing with the Leisure and Hospitality sector with transactions up to £5,000,000.
Nick Lewis-Perrins said: “I actually attended an InterBay Commercial Business Building Seminar in Bristol in my capacity as a broker and was so impressed with what InterBay had to offer, I applied for a position. I believe the simplicity of the InterBay Commercial offering is a real USP and is much better than what’s available on the high street.”
The sales team is also being boosted by the recruitment of a loan manager, Faye Poore. Faye will be responsible for forming broker and packager relationships.
Faye Poore said: “After years working for C&G, I was looking to move into the commercial market and really liked what I saw when I came to meet the InterBay Commercial team.”
The underwriting team also has two members, Joanne Phasey and Carly McGee. Joanne previously worked at C&G as a mortgage sales manager for three years where she managed a team of 17 mortgage advisors in a call centre dealing directly with customers. Her role involved performance management, capacity planning, FSA supervision and monitoring of all team members, coaching and all round support. Her job also involved looking at cases that fell outside lending criteria, dealing with complaints and ensuring cases got to completion as quickly as poss.
Colin Bell, operations director at InterBay Commercial, commented: “Joanne’s previous experience in case by case handling fits perfectly with the 'common sense' approach that is fundamental to the InterBay Commercial underwriting process.
“Carly has moved from the processing department at InterBay where the experience she gained in mortgage operations has made her a valuable addition to the underwriting team.”
