As part of the application process, InterBay will be able to provide a cast-iron decision to lend within 48 hours, which is underwritten, credit-checked and only subject to valuation and any stipulations. A marketing toolkit has also been launched as part of the website enhancements, in addition to links enabling registration for free seminars and product information.

Mortgage intermediaries can also register to receive access to support and training aids, seminars and training sessions in their region and product updates.
Commenting on the application process, Melanie Bien, associate director of Savills, commented: “It is always worth having another option, so it’s worth trying. The commercial mortgage sector is very complicated, so the fact it’s only available through intermediaries is a good thing, as clients should definitely get advice from a broker proficient in self-certification mortgages to get the best deal. Getting a decision within 48 hours means that they at least know fairly quickly whether the lender can help them or not.”
