Elkington owns Penhurst Properties and is regarded in some circles as one of the most successful and respected property professionals in the country.
He founded Penhurst in 1987 with the purchase of a single flat in Tooting and is now one of the country’s largest private landlords and a regular on lists of the country’s wealthiest and most influential business people.
It has a broad property asset base of some 300 houses and apartments mostly in South London as well as business centres in London and Tonbridge.
Elkington’s role at Enness will not only be to assist in the management and direction of the current operation but also to help create and execute strategy in growing the company through new partnerships and channels of funding.
Elkington sai: “I’ve known Hugh and Islay since I was the landlord of their very first office back in early 2007 and despite tough market conditions have seen the company grow from two people to today being the pre-eminent brokerage in the UK specialising in large loans. Looking forward, the plans they have for the company in the next 24 months are huge and I believe that I can assist in realising these.”
