John Sinclair appointed chairman of National Counties

An Actuary by profession, John Sinclair, aged 56 years, has been a non-executive of the Society since November 2000. He was previously Group Executive Director, UK and Ireland, Guardian Royal Exchange plc and currently holds a number of non-executive directorships and is also involved in the charity sector.

Commenting upon his appointment John Sinclair said:

‘I am proud and delighted to take over as Chairman of the Society. The financial services market in which the Society operates is very competitive and continues to undergo significant change in response to customer needs, technological developments and increased regulation. National Counties, with its much envied financial strength, has the strategy in place to respond to these challenges. Maintaining our independence and

mutual structure, we will offer customers choice in the market and I am confident that we will continue to grow and expand our business for the benefit of our members.’
