Successful candidates will undergo training and mentoring to further develop their skills
Broker firm Just Mortgages has opened the nominations process for its newly launched leadership programme, aimed at identifying and developing future leaders within its employed division.
Managers within the division are encouraged to nominate individuals demonstrating the requisite skills and aspirations for career advancement. Successful nominees will undergo a training and mentoring programme, geared not only towards enhancing their current roles but also fostering skills pivotal for career progression.
Comprising three modules, the programme delves into topics such as time management, problem-solving, and effective communication, in addition to honing leadership qualities and transferable skills. Another module provides a comprehensive insight into Just Mortgages, the business’ needs, and opportunities in other divisions and functions.
While spotlighting the path to becoming a divisional sales director, the programme also underscores alternative career avenues in learning and development, compliance, administration, and marketing. This allows advisers to leverage their skills and advance their professional trajectory.
“Just Mortgages has always been committed to investing in our own talented team and recruiting from within,” stated John Phillips (pictured), chief executive of Spicerhaart and Just Mortgages. “This new programme extends that commitment and puts the blueprint in place for advisers to develop skills and take that next step should they wish. It is a great addition to our extensive learning and development offering which is available across the entire business and at every level.”
This initiative operates in tandem with Spicerhaart’s company-wide leadership programme and complements the training and support provided by Just Mortgages. At the helm of the leadership programme is Greg Smith, senior trainer for the employed division within Just Mortgages’ learning and development team.
“Learning and development plays a critical role in the ongoing success of any business,” Smith said. “The aim of this new programme is to match those who aspire to progress within the business with the necessary training, mentoring and knowledge.
“We are really excited to open nominations for what we hope will be a real career event for advisers and a launching pad to make informed decisions on their future.”
Just Mortgages’ learning and development team delivers both in-person and remote training sessions for the brokerage’s entire staff. Additionally, the team provides access to online modules via the My Learning Space digital platform. These modules include topics ranging from sales and product training to marketing, lead generation, health and wellbeing, as well as leadership and compliance.
The employed division at Just Mortgages comprises over 150 advisers nationwide, receiving support from a team of divisional sales directors, financial services directors, and two chapter managing directors.
Concurrently, the self-employed division, approaching 500 advisers, operates with its distinct growth trajectory. For self-employed advisers, the avenue to progress and expand their businesses lies in Just Mortgages’ business principals training programme. Collaborating with the learning and development team, advisers undergo tailored training and mentoring.
