To gain membership, its advisers have been vetted to ensure they meet the council’s standards and have to abide by the council’s code of conduct which ensures consumers can have confidence in the advice they receive.
Stephen Lowe, group director of external affairs and customer insight at Just Retirement, said: “Membership shows the commitment of Just Retirement Solutions’ advisers to operating at the highest standards in the industry.
“We are delighted to have been accepted as members because we support the Equity Release Council’s objectives of underpinning confidence and helping to grow the market.”
Lowe described the council’s decision to expand the membership from providers to intermediaries and other stakeholders as a bold step towards them acting as a true trade body.
Andrea Rozario, director general of the Equity Release Council, welcomed the membership of Just Retirement Solutions.
She said: “It is important to our objective of representing the entire equity release sector that intermediaries add their knowledge and experience.
“This is a sector of financial services where it is crucial that consumers receive outstanding advice that they can depend on. People who receive advice from our members can have that confidence.”
